The Unfolding of Lammas

Today we welcome in a new month. Many of you may have looked at the calendar and, like me, wondered for a moment where this year has gone. But, August 1st, which marks the half way point between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox, is really a good time to take that wonderment into deep reflection.

On the wheel of the year today is called Lammas or Lughnasadh. It is a time to reflect, honor, and celebrate the first fruits and the coming harvest. This day serves as a reminder to take a look at the seeds planted earlier in the year, assess their growth, notice the transformations, maybe give a bit of extra tending, and offer a deeper blessing of gratitude.

Yes, I encourage you to take a few moments today and glance back over your year. Do so as an observer; no judgement, no discouragement, no over enthusiasm. Simply observe your gardens, fields, and orchards with kind, loving, tender eyes and an open, gracious heart.

Look at the seeds you planted this year and the orchards you’ve been tending. What has sprouted and what has not? What has grown out of control or in a different, unexpected, or odd twist? What has been produced so far? Are there areas that need additional weeding? Are there places which are ready to be plucked or needing to be pruned? Are there seeds you might not plant again? Are you inspired to plant others?

Let the observance continue for as long as comfortable for you, as long as you want. Journal any insights you may have received, even if they seem incomplete, remember the full harvest isn’t upon us just yet. Then, be sure to whisper a blessing of gratitude for the plenty you have and the ever unfolding abunDance.

NOTE: After writing this, I pulled this card from Awakening to Your Divine Self deck; Unfolding (Surrender, Flow, Dance, Movement, Permission). This card, with her dancer, has colors of the Summery sun and ripening Autumn. It is an unfolding dance. A reminder to trust where we are, right now, to listen to the body, your own and Mother Earth. All things, including each of us, is unfold in their due time, ah, timing. We can’t rush the seed, can we? Part of the card’s beautiful message says, “This card is about giving yourself the time to be still and listen, even as you move imperceptibly, intuitively, like a flower seeking light.”

Seek the light dear ones xox

Happy Equinox. I had a little unexpected extra time this morning and thought why not attempt a V-log, sure, get a little practice in, get a little more comfortable with the camera, so, here's to some silly rambling and sharing all the while keeping it so simple. Enjoy, laugh, venture out into nature....or just think I'm silly, mostly, thanks for being here

Light, shadow, and back in the seat

Yesterday morning was beautiful and finally having a full release from my doctor (okay, as long as I take it slow) I scooted into the seat. It had been almost a year since my last ride. There was some awkwardness settling in, a strangeness at finding a groove, blisters arrived much too soon, and as far as taking it slow, well, my shoulder and bicep let me know it wasn't time to fully bust through. The only disappointment, while rolling out of the driveway, was my IPod was dead and my music isn't loaded on my phone so, I headed out on this return ride with only my thoughts.

So many 'things' have come up over the last several weeks. Memories, including ones long forgotten, current 'things' going on, am I enough 'things, just a whole lot of funky 'things'. You know those 'things' which, hide themselves in the subconscious and, for whatever strange reason, run out shouting, "Surprise!" and it gets you every time.

Leaving the driveway left would be up hill, right down hill, I chose right. Pushing a few hard cranks on the wheels, I stretched forward and let the speed take over hoping the loud rush of wind would, if not drown out the mind chatter would at least blow it away for a space of time. What happened was most interesting. With each curve, twist, and turn taken I noticed my shadow and the shadow of the chair. Seamlessly the shadows moved with me, aligning with light, like perfect dancing partners.

As I continued to notice this fluid dance, I became increasingly aware that my shadow parts are no more separate from me, their source, than my light is separate from me. And, here's the kicker, the real shout, "Surprise!"; with as uncomfortable as I have been lately with these shadow 'things', I am just as uncomfortable with my light 'things'. In fact, I tend to hide from my light as much as I hide my shadow.

The parts are never greater than the sum. And it's all the parts, light and shadow, which make up the whole, but when light and shadow are given the okay to dance their dance...wowsers, magnificence is magnified.

Thoughts and ideas came forth about why and how to meet these surfacing subconscious 'things'. There is purpose in the, "Surprise!" and to allow the integration of light and shadow to take center stage as they simply, seamlessly know how to dance.

Dimming our light mutes our shadow!
Dimmed light and muted shadow dulls our brilliance!

Cisco & Linda

This is Cisco the Kid and Linda.

Linda is a friend and neighbor.

Cisco is her handsome new beau.

This is a very magical post about their coming together.

On April 1st, Linda was chatting about how much she wanted a horse. Actually, she commented on a particular photo of a horse, a horse voted as the most beautiful horse, saying, "I WANT THIS HORSE!" followed by, "I want any horse...one day, one day, one day..."

In a short conversation I invited Linda to set her intention to bring 'her' horse home, to stake her claim.

"If it were only possible," she stated.

Oh my, I couldn't resist, "You dwell in endless possibilities," I told her.

Each of us do, dwell in endless possibilities and potential.

From there we created a vision, a clear vision of her horse. She saw her horse being a Sorrel, she named him Buster and explained why he got his name. Linda envisioned her days with him and then we invoked the feelings and emotion.

With guidance, in a short time Linda created a clearly written vision of what she wanted complete with, "...July 2014 or sooner..." Always set a target date.
I further invited her to be, "...open and receptive..." to her perfect match. This is so important when setting a vision/intention so not to be completely locked into your vision that when the perfect match shows up, it goes missed or neglected because it isn't the 'exact' request.

Let me explain this a little more: Clarity in our vision inspires Universe which in turn sets Universe to conspire with us in bringing about our heart's desires.
(This comes with a warning: be careful what you wish for.)

Desire Inspire Conspire

Linda also said something many of us feel and say ourselves. "...when God finds me worthy of this gift..."

My response, "...divine daughter, you are worthy right now and so is your horse to be with you!"

Let me explain this a little more: We tend to underestimate our worthiness, that we are loved beyond measure, and our purpose is joy. What brings you true joy? Joy, at this time for Linda, was her horse.

So, after Linda created her vision I invited her to read it every day and to feel it with the same excitement and magic as a child feels on Christmas morning.

Sunday evening I received an excited and joy-filled message from Linda, "...read what I typed back in April. Look what happened!! He's not exactly what I had described and I chose a different name, but it happened when I said it would!! Thank you for helping me with this!! He's a Medicine Hat Ovaro Paint and the Native Americans believe they are "magical". I believe it!! He's beautiful!"

Welcome home Cisco!

And so it is magical...
