I couldn't leave her this way, in the asphalt. What a sight this must have been for the neighbors driving by. I'm on my legs, wearing a dress, wobbly as the little butterfly, attempting to bend over carefully and gracefully, to scoop up this gorgeous little creature.
Each time I stood up to readjust my stance and approach, I'd look over at the car, idling, and see Bear dog from inside looking inquisitively out at me. Finally, after about 15 minutes, she crawled into the safe harbor of the palm of my hand.
Toddling over to the yard, opening my hand, I guided her to the wildflowers.
